Since relocating to Florida, we have Thanksgiving dinner with our friends next door. (They come to our house on Christmas.) Their granddaughter came with them to our house last Christmas, where she had this special dessert that Bo makes. Last week, she asked her grandmother if she thought Bo would make it for Thanksgiving for her, because she can’t be here this Christmas. Of course, Bo said yes. Annie, it’s chilling in our fridge now. Here’s the link to the recipe: https://cookingwithboandmia.com/recipes/chocolate-truffle-pie/
Are you ready to begin your Holiday baking? This is a busy season for baking Christmas cookies, pies, candies, and cakes. I’m almost ready to begin.
Closer to Christmas I will make my famous red velvet cake with cream cheese icing.
Well, it’s famous with family, friends, and neighbors, anyway.
The first thing I will make is my cookie dough for my favorite sugar cookies.
Then there is always pecan pie.
I can feel my arteries clogging up already. We really do try to maintain a healthy lifestyle the rest of the year, but at Christmastime, well, you know how it is. I have tweaked these recipes to make them less unhealthy, while maintaining the texture and flavor. As I always say, everything in moderation, so enjoy the special holiday meals and parties, and eat healthfully in between parties. Hello, New Year’s Resolutions!
